Jacob Singer returns to the label with another solid progressive mover titled 'Restart' which follows his excellent remix on Orphix's 'You Don't Know Me' which was very well received. Jacob started out in music playing the guitar and was heavily influenced by rock and metal bands for many years. After he discovered electronic music however, he soon realised that this is where his passion lay. Now a veteran on the progressive scene he has churned out many noteworthy releases on various labels and he's been a stalwart on Bonzai Progressive for a number of years. Great to see him back for more.
The Original Mix gets us underway with a slow burning groove that captures the imagination. The main groove ushers in a solid slice of progressive house music while in the background we find a host of sounds that combine beautifully to create a multi layered texture. The bassline fills the spectrum, reverberating through the sound beautifully as softer, melodic phrases weave in and out. Expertly crafted drums keep us moving making this the perfect fodder in any building set. Croatian producer team Cortex Thrill return to Bonzai Progressive with a top-notch remix. Ivo and Robert never disappoint, they come with a wealth of experience, nurtured over 30 years in the electronic music scene. They had a whirlwind start in the early 90's, slamming down brazen, energetically charged techno on Bonzai Records. In recent years, their energies have been diverted into mind-bending, trippy progressive house cuts and as always, we're delighted to have them here. The remix delivers that special Cortex Thrill vibe, filled with cosmic sounds and a driving energetic edge. Tight drums lead us out as a chugging bassline shores up the low-end while a variety of synth sounds and dreamy vocals keep us intrigued. The groove takes us a cinematic quality thanks to its production values which is a testament to the duo. A stomper, that is not to be missed.
